The Psychology Faculty of P.G. Demodov Yaroslavl State University was founded in 1970. Our faculty is the third one in the country (after the Psychology Faculties of Moscow and St. Petersburg Universities) both by its “age” and prestige, and by the quality of preparing specialists.

Teaching and research at the faculty are done by highly qualified teachers, most of them being doctors and candidates of science. The faculty contains the Department of Labour and Organizational Psychology; the Department of General Psychology; the Department of Pedagogics and Educational Psychology, the Department of Social Psychology, the Department of Consultation Psychology.

The main directions of scientific work at the faculty are: psychology of practical thinking and expertise; psychology of decision making; development of the main principles of transformational management; integral psychological processes; corporate culture; psychology of occupational thinking of teachers; the study of the knowledge organization of the converted; corporate learning. The faculty was more than once recognized as the best one in scientific work at the university. The faculty has a post-graduate course and the council for defending candidates and doctors’ theses in specialities Social Psychology, Labour and Industrial Psychology.

The faculty has the Laboratory of Psychodiagnostics and the Laboratory of Personal and Professional Development. The faculty cares about student’s leisure, helps in placing in a job, organizes probations and scientific exchange with foreign universities.
