Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, and Dmitriy Mironov, the Head of the Yaroslavl Region Administration, has had a meeting with the representatives of the Yaroslavl Ragion public. Pavel Nesterov, The Dean of the Mathematical Department, took part in the meeting.
YSU has become the 51 among Russian Universities in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. Other Universities of Yaroslavl Region are much lower in the rating - Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University - 257, Yaroslavl State Technical University - 373, Yaroslavl State Medical Academy - 400 line of the rating.

The International Workshop “High Energy Physics and Quantum Field Theory” has been hold regularly since 1982 by the Research Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in different cities of Russia. In 2017 (this year ) the XXIII Workshop is hold in Yaroslavl ( 28th June – 3rd July).
On May 12 2017 Anatoliy Viktorovich Skalniy, the Head of the scientific-research laboratory of YSU, signed the strategic paper on behalf of the University on joining the International Collaboration of Scientists from China, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Ukrain, and Russia.
