Organisation of the Aid for Sick and Wounded Serbian Soldiers during the Balkan Wars by Her Royal Highness Princess Helena Petrovna (1912–1913)

Abstract: Based on the Russian historical data, the story poorly explored before is considered: the activity of Princess Helena Petrovna, a spouse of Prince of imperial blood John Konstantinovich, a nee Princess of Serbia, regarding her aid to sick and wounded Serbian soldiers during the Balkan wars. With the outbreak of war actions, with support from the Russian Red Cross and with the use of funds raised by the Committee of the Marble Palace, Princess Helena Petrovna has established the hospital which was operational up until the end of the war. Princess Helena Petrovna was by Her personal presence supporting the morale of the army and strengthening the faith in the inviolability of the Union of Russia and Serbia. Her activities were seen as a continuation of the tradition of charity of the Romanov’s dynasty in the Balkans.

Alexandra Pogosky: Apostle of Russian Peasant Industries

Abstract: Alexandra Pogosky was the owner of the first store of Russian goods in London. Nicholas Roerich called her one of three main propagandists of Russian culture in Western world. During 30 years of hard work she opened more than 10 shops of Russian peasant industries. She was the organizer of hundreds of exhibitions of Russian goods. It was Pogosky who sold the tsar-shawl – the biggest shawl in the world that had 24 million of loops. She was considered to be a noble lady from Russian aristocracy, however she carried out many instructions from Petr Kropotkin and other Russian revolutionaries. Bernard Shaw admired her, and well as Vladimir Gilarovsky. She was a famous theosophist, and also she was keen on spiritualism.

The Archive of Apollonios: the Staff of Roman Strategus’ Estate

Abstract: In the paper by the study of materials from the archives of Apollonios an attempt to clarify social position of the strategi (officials headed the local administration in Roman Egypt) is made. The main attention is paid to the staff of a strategus’s estate and a range of their responsibilities. The study of the private letters from Apollonios archive makes it possible to identify six persons who were in the service of the strategus; for four of them it is possible to determine their occupation. Besides, some of the employed by the strategus were connected with him not only by the official relations, but also by their friendship

German Society on the Eve of the French Revolution in 1770s–1780s German Political Poetry

Abstract: The article analyses German political poetry in 1770s–1780s in order to reconstruct the attitude of its authors to the German society’s state and its development prospects. Their assessments of the largest German social groups are sequentially considered. The article concludes that the German society as it is presented in the political poetry is in crisis and needs the structural transformation.

Cross-Cultural Analysis of the Value-Motivational Orientations of the Persons with High-Levels Authoritarianism

Abstract: The article presents the results of a cross-cultural research of the Russian and German respondents, conducted to educe and examine the similarities and specialties in the dynamic development of the value-motivational orientations of the persons whose levels of authoritarianism are above average. The article analyzes the issues of transformation of the declared values into the values implemented by the person in the course of adaptation and socialization processes. The analysis of the manifestations of the socio-psychological phenomenon of doublethinking, observed in the overcoming of cognitive dissonance and achieving the state of cognitive consonance by the person, is also considered in the article

Temporal Characteristics of Professional Career as an Object and a Target of Psychological Experiment

Abstract: Are given the materials of the analysis of literary sources on the problem “temporal characteristics of professional career” (TKHPK). The hypotheses are advanced: 1) оccur the repeated cycles (auto) of the organization of adaptive mechanisms for the elongation of the professional career of subject (or - micro-cycles); 2) the disturbances of typical cyclic recurrence - the incomplete micro-cycles, reduced, just as tightened it will be negatively reflected in the professional success of subject; 3) they will lead the accumulation of the different disturbances of micro-cycles to the professional destructions and the diseases. Are separated 10 criteria of the success of subject (“vertical” career, “horizontal”, “the rapidity of career” and other). Is proposed the system of concepts, which ensures operational resolving of problem TKHPK.

Phenomenon of Recurring Errors in Doing Cognitive Tasks: Description and Prediction of the Negative Choice Aftereffect

Abstract: In this paper we examined the phenomenon of recurring errors in various cognitive tasks. According to Allakhverdov’s approach (1993, 200),previously unperceived or forgotten stimuli are recalled worse than the new ones. The negative choice aftereffect was demonstrated in two experimental studies. The results also suggest the possibility to predict recurring errors in process of learning.

Change of Spectral and Amplitude-Frequency Characteristics of EEG in the Process of Understanding Contents of Texts

Abstract: The present paper investigates the dynamics of changes in the spectral and amplitude-frequency characteristics of EEG in the process of getting understanding of contents of visually shown texts by adult subjects (n = 148). There has been developed an original technology of step-by-step presentation of texts. This technology allows “to catch” a psycho-physiological markers of understanding and identifying stages of a temporal sequence of the process of understanding. EEG data were analyzed usin g spectral methods. It was found, that a stage «understanding» is characterized by a surge of bioelectrical activity in the theta range; while stages of «before understanding» and «after understanding» are characterized by a preferential activation in highfrequency gamma range. The results of the study allow to combine conflicting data of the role of high- and low-frequency bioelectrical activity of the brain in the process of understanding of the meaning of verbal information

Dynamic Changes of the Person in a Training Environment: a Longitudinal Study

Abstract: This paper presents results of longitudinal study (two years interval) of the test group, who passed mindset training, aimed at the development of personal regulative qualities. Question of interest – stability of changes in personality profile of testing persons under the influence of training procedures. It was found out, that the effect of social well-being improvement is connected with changes in personal traits, related to the rise of social-psychological efficiency of training participants
